Fingerprinting goes high-tech

The fingerprinting process in progress at Education City

A team of employees from the Criminal Evidences and Information Department carried out fingerprinting for 80 teachers and students at Education City on Sunday using a portable electronic machine.
The initiative is part of the department’s programme to improve its service by simplifying the fingerprinting procedure.
“This new service of conducting the fingerprinting procedure at the premises of key organisations and establishments is aimed at helping the clients to finish the process quickly and reducing the rush at our department headquarters,” director Lt. Col. Naser Abdullah al-Mahmoud said in a statement.
The official explained that the initiative has been implemented under the directions of HE the Minister of State for Internal Affairs and the Director General of Public Security.
“It is also a part of the plan prepared by the department to improve the services and adopt advanced technology at par with international standards,” he said.
Al-Mahmoud urged clients to utilise the facility of getting informed about the fingerprint results from the website of the ministry, www.moi.gov.qa
